Configure Desktops

Desktops allow you to have multiple controls displayed in the application workspace.

Manage Email Preferences

Learn to establish user's email and pager addresses for alerts and notifications.

Panther Privilege Management

Learn to define what Panther components users have access to by granting and denying privileges for users and groups.

Topology Management

Learn to manage the Cerner Millennium® domains that exist within Panther by adding and repairing domains.

Panther Management

Learn to manage suspensions of domains, nodes, notifications, and proactive actions.

Foreign System Setup

The Oracle® Connection Setup allows you to configure the connection string used by Panther to access the Oracle® database on a per-domain basis. Node Connection Setup allows you to configure the credentials used to connect to a domain's nodes in order to access their RTMS timer data.

Audit Logs Control

The Audit Log shows an electronic audit trail of user interactions with the system. All interactions with IBM WebSphere® MQ, Millennium Server Control, Panther Management, and Open Engine are audited. Any login attempts are recorded and Panther User Management privilege changes.

Action History Control

The Action History control shows all actions on the system. Actions are either IBM MQ Message Replay actions or Server Cycler actions.

Using Panther Management Reports

The Management Reports document high-level metrics concerning the availability of important areas within Cerner Millennium® system. This documentation is offered with both Summary and Event Analysis reports to make identifying trending data easier. The data presented in these reports is based on event data obtained from the Panther sensors, stored in the Panther database.

Critical Performance Summary

This summary report provides a high-level view of the system over a period of time. The report provides data related to Connection Count Limits, Underserviced Servers, Server Restarts, Thrashing Servers, and Concurrent Ops Jobs.

Ops Job Concurrency Event Analysis

Ops Job Concurrency events represent situations where ops jobs running concurrently for the same template ID or within the same domain exceed the defined threshold. This report provides daily and historic event information that will help identify when these template IDs or domains were exceeding their concurrency thresholds.

Server Restart Event Analysis

Server Restart events are related to servers that restarted following an abnormal termination. This report provides daily and historic event information that will help identify these issues and trends. Building on the Server Restart sensor, found under the Millennium sensors, which generates short term reports of no more than one week, this report will capture the restart activity on going.

Chart Server Event Analysis

The Chart system is Millennium's way of producing patient information in printed form. The Chart Event Analysis Report provides trend graphs of backlogs and stalls experienced by Millennium Chart Servers. This information may prove invaluable in diagnosing the causes of issues and preventing slowdowns in the system in the future.

Interfaces Event Analysis

Millennium interacts with foreign systems using interfaces. Any time that these interfaces fail to perform properly can result in long wait times for Millennium users. By providing trend graphs of backlogs and stalls experienced by Millennium Interfaces, the Interface Event Analysis Report provides valuable data which can be used to prevent future interface backlogs and stalls.

Millennium Session Analysis (RTMS)

Millennium Session Analysis (RTMS) The Millennium Session Analysis report documents machines connecting to Millennium. This report provides daily and historic event information that will help identify usage and performance of Citrix and WAS servers.

Queuing Performance Spreadsheet (QPS)

The Queuing Performance Spreadsheet (QPS) Report gives an analysis of the amount of queuing that is happening within the Cerner Millennium® system. The QPS spreadsheets will provide granular information that will help identify issues and trends that may affect the performance of the Millennium system and the impact of the system on end users.

RRD Failure Summary Report

The RRD Failure Summary Report documents events related to RRD failures as detected by Panther. This report provides daily and historic event information that will help identify issues and trends related to RRD.

Cycle Usage Report

The Cycle Usage Report documents the usage of the Panther system to cycle Millennium servers.

Executive Summary

This report is a summary of all Panther usage over a period of time.

Sensor Notifications Report

The Sensor Notifications Report documents when Panther notified the IT staff of information that can be actionable. This report provides daily and historic notification volumes to illustrate the work effort needed to maintain the Millennium system. This report can help identify the IT staff’s dependence on being notified at the right time for the right situation in order to mitigate risk to patient care.

System Availability Summary

This System Availability Summary report documents high-level metrics concerning the availability of important areas within the Cerner Millennium system. This report provides daily and historic event information that will help identify availability issues and trends within the system.

Panther Controls

Tablespace Projection Control

The Tablespace Projection control allows you to see data previously collected by Panther regarding the amount of space used by and allocated to Oracle® tablespaces.

Current Events Control

The Current Events control provides a view of ongoing events Panther has detected within a domain.

Interfaces Control

The Interfaces control is used to monitor the interface processes that run on the back end. Interfaces are domain specific in Panther.

ESI Logs Control

The ESI Logs control is used to view External Service Inbound (ESI) log entries in the database.

HL7 Loader Control

The HL7 Loader control provides access to read HL7 messages.

Oracle Query Control

The Oracle Query control gives users access to issue queries against the Oracle® instance defined in Foreign System Setup for the domain.

Configurations Control

The Configurations control is used to manage the configurations of server processes that run on the application nodes.

Charge Capture Suite

The suite of Charge Capture Controls inside Panther™ gives you unprecedented visibility into revenue management of your Cerner system – so you can stop leaking millions of dollars in missing charges. The controls let you begin the task of revenue optimization where it should begin – by auditing charge capture in your clinical applications. Without visibility into your entire EMR transaction process, you have no way of knowing if charging errors are happening before they even hit your billing system. Our Charge Controls show you these problems immediately and where to go to troubleshoot them. You can troubleshoot the system yourself or work with our Cerner-specific Revenue Cycle consultants to make corrections for you.

Servers Control

The Servers control is used to manage the server processes that run on the back end.

Services Control

The Services control shows a list of all currently registered services. This view provides information such as current connections and messages.

Alerts, sensor setup, notifications, proactive response vs. reactive response and certification summary.
